The Operations Centre

All rescue missions are coordinated by the Operations Centre located at the Rega Center at Zurich-Kloten Airport. Both the Operations Centre and the helicopter bases are manned 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The physician on duty at the Operations Centre makes the preparations for patients to be repatriated to Switzerland and advises callers who have taken ill while they are abroad. This includes making enquiries as to the most suitable medicaments available locally or the location of the nearest hospital.

In the event of an accident or serious illness, anyone can ask Rega for assistance at any time of the day or night by calling its emergency number 1414 (within Switzerland) or via emergency radio (emergency channel 161.300 MHz).

Raising the alarm using a mobile phone:
If your mobile phone is equipped with a SIM card of a Swiss network provider (Swisscom, Orange, Sunrise), you should dial 1414 without any area code (from within Switzerland) or +41 333 333 333 (from abroad). If your mobile does not have a SIM card from a Swiss network provider, you should call +41 333 333 333.
